Operating Season

Holiday Hill Resort is operated seasonally each year.  We open May 1st every spring and close the third week of October annually.   Reservations can be made up to one year in advance.  Calendars for the next season open up in early July annually and future reservations can be made with a one-night refundable deposit.  

Stairs & Accessibility

Holiday Hill is located on top of a Sand Dune and therefore requires MANY STAIRS or a steep driveway for access.  We do not recommend the property to those with very limited mobility.  There is limited parking at the top of the driveway, but space is always available for drop-off and pickup.  We also provide a reserved space in the main lot with our partners at Beachway Resort.  The original luggage trolly is available for those staying in 730 Hilltop House.   Stair count is provided below for each unit. The stairs are separated by several landings for rest if needed.

Heated Pool

The pool is shared by all Holiday Hill guests staying in the 5 Suites and 2 Cottages that make up the resort.   There is always enough space for everyone, even on the busiest holiday weekends you won't find yourself struggling for a table or lounge chair.   

The pool is heated, cleaned, and monitored daily by our professionally trained staff.

We guarantee the pool to be open from MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND until the FIRST DAY OF FALL every year. Before and after those dates, we are beholden to the weather and cannot guarantee an early opening or late closing of the pool.  

Pet Policy

Unfortunately due to the nature of the property and shared common spaces PETS ARE NOT allowed at Holiday Hill.  There are some wonderful boarding options available locally however.

Children

Children are allowed at Holiday Hill.  Children are never to be unaccompanied by an adult anywhere on the Holiday Hill Grounds.  

We do not provide "Pack and Play" cribs for infants but we do allow our guests to bring their own.  

- Suites 700, 701, 702, 703 each have a pull out queen sofa bed that can accommodate 2 children or minors.  

- Cottage 720, has a pull out queen and two pull out twins for children & minors. 

- Cottage 730, has two twin beds in the downstairs portion for children, minors, or adults.

Check-in & Check-out

Check-in for 700, 701, 702, 703, 722 (Suites and Studio) is 3 P.M. Daily

 

Check-in for 720 and 730 (Cottages) is 4 P.M. Daily 

Check-out for all units is 11 A.M Sharp

Check out at 11 A.M. also applies to the pool and sundeck.  We have a high rate of turnover, and in order to provide space for our guests, we ask that once checked out that space be reserved for those who are checking in.  

Early check in and Late check out can only be requested and approved on the day of arrival/departure if the unit is ready and we do not have a same day flip.  Due to extremely high demand and turnover this is only an add on option in the early and late season and is not available during our peak summer stays. 

Parking and EV Charging

Each reservation at Holiday Hill Resort is guaranteed parking.  We have limited availibity of parking on top of the Hill.  The three upper spots are first come first serve and are occasionally reserved for guests with limited mobility on an individual basis.   Additional parking is provided by our partners at The Beachway Resort located just steps below our property.   

Reservations in the Suites and Studio (700, 701, 702, 703, & 722) are allowed one car per reservation. Reservations in the Cottages (720 & 730) are allowed two cars per reservation.

EV CHARGING is possible for the upper parking spots.  Please specify after booking if you will require this service.  

Saugatuck Township has a FREE carpool lot located adjacent to I-96.  This free lot is available to park vehicles in order to consolidate for larger groups.

Chain Ferry and Proximity to Town

Holiday Hill Resort is located directly across the river from downtown.  Town is easily accessible on foot via the chain ferry which picks up and drops off adjacent to our property.  The ferry is operated by the city of Saugatuck and please double check for hours of operation as it varies seasonally and is weather dependent.  The chain ferry operates Memorial Day through Labor Day.

We have several door to door local taxi options as well as the city operated interurban shuttle that are also awesome options.

Town by car is a short 5-6 minute drive around via the Blue Star Hwy Bridge.

Oval Beach

Holiday Hill is one of the closest rental properties to acclaimed Oval Beach.  It is a .5 mile walk or drive from the property. Parking is a small fee.  Keep in mind the walk is very "hilly" as it crosses through the sand dunes. It can also be reached via nature trail for those who are more adventurous via the many trail heads that terminate close to the property. 

We kindly ask you do not bring the pool towels to the beach.  We also do not rent beach chairs please see rental information below on this page.   

BBQ Grills

Each unit has access to several 4 burner stainless steel gas BBQ Grills.   They are located behind the cottages as well in the shared pool deck spaces.  Propane is provided and checked daily.  If you find your canister of propane low please let our staff know and they will change it out for you.

In Unit Kitchens

Each unit at Holiday Hill features a fully equipped kitchen with Refrigerator, Oven, Stove Top and Sink.  Pots, Pans, Dishes, Utensils, Grilling Utensils, Silverware, Mixing Bowls, Cutting Boards, & Cutlery are all provided.  

We DO NOT provide cooking oils, spices & seasonings, foil, or plastic wrap.  Please bring as needed.

We kindly ask before checkout that dishes are washed and placed in drying rack.  A fee may be deducted for unclean dishes and dinner messes. 

Coffee

Drip Coffee Makers are standard in every unit.  We are proud to partner with Uncommon Coffee Roasters to provide our guests with our signature blend "Holiday Hilltop Roast!"  Coffee is delivered fresh weekly from Uncommon's local roasting facility.

Laundry

Coin-operated Commercial Washer and Dryer are available 24 hours a day next to the pool bathroom.   Units 720 and 730 have their own in-unit complimentary washer and dryer.

Quarters Only  Guests may exchange bills in our gift shop or at the front desk if needed.  

Bike Storage

Holiday Hill has a dedicated bike rack on the back entrance to the property on Van Dalson Street.  It is located at the bottom of the stairs where the trolly car stops.  Please lock and store bikes here and not on your patio or balcony.  For the front side units and those parking at The Beachway, there is also a bike rack in the Beachway lot that you are more than welcome to use!

Pool Towels

Pool towels are available at the Beachway front desk and can be exchanged daily.  We do kindly ask that you do not bring pool towels to the beach.  

Beach Chairs and Umbrellas

We do not rent beach chairs or umbrellas.  You can rent them locally in town at In the Elements Rentals.  You can visit their website here.  https://intheelementsrental.com/

 

Gift Shop

The gift shop is located in the office next to the main pool gate and is open from approximately 10 AM to 4 PM daily.   A variety of T-shirts, Mugs, Ornaments, Coffee, and Apparel are available.  Handcrafted Jewelry from Beach Inspirations is also featured in the front window display. 

Wedding Parties & Large Groups

Holiday Hill is the perfect venue to host a large group of people for an occasion like a wedding or family reunion.  While the property itself is NOT and event space, we are an ideal venue to help accommodate a large group of family and friends. Availability is best in the early or late season.  In total the entire property sleeps 20 - 22 Adults and 12 - 14 children for a total of up to 34 Guests.  The Captain's cottage allows for a wonderful gathering space with a large open floor plan and full kitchen and dining area.  Contact us early for availability.

Corporate Bookings or Retreats

Holiday Hill provides an excellent opportunity for large gatherings, corporate meetings, and retreat spaces.  Check with management for early and late season discounts on a full property reservation.   Availability is best in May and October for such an occasion.  Property will sleep 22 adults in the 7 units.  There are 11 private bedrooms in total on the property. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received at least 14 days prior to the scheduled arrival date will have their deposits refunded, minus a $30.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 14 days prior to the scheduled arrival date will forfeit their entire deposit - no refunds will be given. We do not refund for early departures. Weekly rentals and holiday rentals require 30 days notice for a deposit refund. The following holidays require at least 30 days notice on cancellation: Memorial Day Weekend, Independence Day/Weekend, Venetian Festival (last Saturday in July), and Labor Day Weekend.
